Over the years both funding
agencies and NGO's have found it increasingly important to measure and evaluate
the impact that projects
are having on the communities and clients to which they serve.
This is particulary true of so called "soft projects" that do not have output
like buildings, roads, physical infrastucture, and vehicles etc. Soft projects provide
training, counselelling, youth developemnt, work experience, behaviour modification,
workshops etc.
YOU recognising this sought funding from the Environmental
Foundation of Jamaica (EFJ)to fund the developent of such a system. YOU
had previously developed a simple M&E system. This system was a software
database application which stored clients information, school information etc. The
system was developed using Mictrosoft Access. Unfortunately the system was not very
robust and need much further development.
The new M&E system is being developed using a more robust database, Microsoft
SQL Server nad is web enables and a part of their website. This will allow it to
be accessed from any Internet enabled computer in the world with the requisite username
and password.
Data will be entered on;
- Students
- Schools
- Workshops
- Programmes
- Projects
- ..and any other entity
that needs to be monitored
Reports will then be able
to be run providing statistical reports on predetermined indicators. The system
will also be a reporitory for important files used by YOU.
Custom reports will be designed
for new projects in accordance with the projects indicators. The Project Plan for
this project is shown below. For a printable
